Biography

Vicki Rackner MD, board-certified surgeon and founder of The Caregiver Club, works with caregivers who want to avoid burn-out, speak up with their doctors and stretch health care dollars. She's been on all sides of the caregiver triad: the treating doctor, the patient facing a life-threatening episode and the family caregiver. Dr. Rackner is a noted expert on the doctor-patient relationship regularly quoted in national publications like The Wall Street Journal, Reader's Digest and CNN.com, to name a few. She uses her voice to help caregivers find theirs. Through her writing and speaking, Dr. Rackner helps caregivers acquire advocacy skills, manage expected challenges and keep hope alive. Her books include Simple Caregiver Truths: How to avoid burn-out and manage guilt, fatigue and resentment, The Biggest Skeleton in Your Doctor's Closet, The Personal Health Journal and Chicken Soup for the Soul Healthy Living Series: Heart Disease.
