Bliss

Support Groups

Hello, everyone. Does anyone know of any support groups for caregivers of elderly parents in the Cleveland area?
My grandmother was denied Medicaid and my parents received a $34,000 bill from her long-term care facility. My mother is completely stressed out and guilt ridden. I think that by joining a support and knowing she is not alone would be beneficial. She is feeling so helpless and I want to help in any way.
Thank you for your time.

bliss, please call the local County SOcia Services Agency in Cleveland and they should have a list of all support groups. Also, try the local hospital, the local United Way, the local Alzheimers Association or even a local church group. good luck, cg33

Have you contacted your local hospitals or even your church for assistance in this area? I was fortunate to find a grief support group which helped me to deal with my feelings after losing my husband. It was a lot of help knowing I wasn't alone in my grief. Look on the internet for your area too about finding a local group. God Bless.
