INSOMNIA

Overview

While many may attribute a restless night of sleep to a normal phenomenon of today’s busy and hectic schedules, insomnia is actually a sleep disorder characterized by difficulty falling and/or staying asleep, or consistently waking up earlier than you need to.

Insomnia may be brought on by stress. It may also be a result of medical treatments, emotional upheaval, jet lag, bright light, or loud noises. Insomnia can be serious if left untreated. Insomnia may lead to difficultly concentrating, staying awake during the day, and impaired reaction time. Insomnia may also lead to depression and other behavioral conditions.
